On October 8, 2023, staff and their families from iCare’s Parkville Care Center and Trinity Hill Care Center represented iCare Health Network in celebrating the 2023 Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival del Coqui. As they did in 2019 and again in 2022, the iCare team marched in the parade from Wawarme Avenue, ending in Bushnell Park, decked out in matching t-shirts and regalia and accompanied by decorated Jeeps. 

At an October 4, 2023 meeting of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Council of States, iCare Health Network President and CEO Chris Wright was elected Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. The meeting and elections took place at the annual AHCA-NCAL Convention and Expo in Denver, CO and the full, elected slate of the Board was announced at the closing ceremonies. Every September, we mark Healthy Aging Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the beauty of growing older while emphasizing the importance of taking control of our health.  The origins of Healthy Aging Month are credited to a television special that inspired people to make lifestyle and dietary changes to prevent heart problems. The show received the American Heart Association’s Howard Blakeslee Award. Many campaigns followed, including the distribution of books, brochures, videotapes, etc.
