In keeping with the themes of National Recovery Month, multiple iCare Health Network care centers have been holding celebrations of what it means to be in recovery. Chelsea Place held a Celebration of Recovery Dinner with special guest speakers. The care center staff pitched in to serve the meal. Chelsea residents and staff also took a day trip to Elizabeth Park to enjoy the weather. The Silver Springs team had their own Recovery Celebration in the Silver Bistro.

September is National Recovery Month. Building on the momentum from their kick-off pep rally event and keeping with the themes of National Recovery Month, Chelsea Place Care Center held a Road to Recovery Luau at the care center in Hartford. The Chelsea Place team, residents and staff alike, have been embracing the theme’s of the moment and celebrating the victories that come with recovery from substance use, big and small. 

On September 4th Chelsea Place Care Center held a pep rally type event, the second annual of its kind for iCare, at the care center in Hartford. iCare Health Network and all its care centers made the commitment to provide a Stigma Free environment and Stigma-Free care to residents with mental illness as well as those with substance use disorder, dementia and cognitive disorders in 2018.

On August 10, 2019, staff and their families represented iCare at the 2019 West Indian Independence Celebration and Parade in Hartford. The iCare team marched in the parade from Main and Battles Street, ending in Bushnell Park, decked out in matching t-shirts with a One Love theme.  

staff and their families from Chelsea Place, Parkville and Trinity Hill Care Centers represented iCare at the 2019 Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival. The iCare team marched in the parade from Wawarme Avenue, ending in Bushnell Park, decked out in matching t-shirts and regalia and accompanied by two decorated Jeeps. The day’s theme was Honrando el Pasado y Celebrando el Futuro; honoring the past and celebrating the future.
